Pre-Filter
The air first enters pre filter, capturing the largest particles, which enhances the durability and performance of the other filters
High-Efficiency HEPA Filter
The most effective type of air filter at capturing dust, allergens and other solid particles (including bacteria). HEPA filters are recommended by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The Mammoth Air 1000 UV ionizer air purifier uses a permanent, washable HEPA, so it does not require replacement.

Ceramic ozone plate (Optional Insert Included)
The Ozone Ceramic Plate is completely optional, but is included with the air purifier. For 6-stage filtration and to prevent ozone altogether, do not install the ozone plate. If installed, the ozone feature is adjusted by activating the "Purifiy" controls located on the main front panel. Without the "Purifiy" control activated, this air purifier emits zero ozone. Ozone, in moderation, can be helpful to remove odors, kill viruses and bacteria including the Flu Virus for a natural clean room. |
Activated Carbon Filter
The best type of air filter for trapping chemicals, gases, odors and cigarette smoke. According to Penn State Dept. of Aerobiological researchers, carbon filters serve to remove odors, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and chemicals that other filters cannot.
Photocatalytic Oxidation Filter
This filter is coated with titanium dioxide, which produces highly reactive ions and electrons when combined with the UV light from the Mammoth Air 1000 UV lamp. These highly reactive ions attach to chemical molecules, bacteria and odor-causing compounds, destroying them through oxidation. Independent tests by research scientists have proven photocatalytic oxidation to by highly effective.
Dual (2) Germicidal UV Lamps
The most effective way to destroy micro-organisms, such as germs, viruses, fungi (such as mold) and bacteria. Also destroys micro-organisms including those that are trapped by the HEPA air filter, preventing them from reproducing and recirculating through the room. UV lamps are recommended by the U.S. Centers of Disease Control.
Safe & Effective UV Ionizer
Circulates trillions of negative ions to neutralize floating pollutants throughout the room. A Journal of Hygiene study found negative ions to improve efficiency of filter units, and multiple studies (including those by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture) have found ionizers to be highly effective against dust, bacteria, etc. Most other air purifiers that remove odors from the air us activated oxygen and produce ozone. Q: Is this a 6 or a 7 stage air purifier?
A: The answer is: both. The Mammoth Pure 1000 air purifier is shipped with a capable Ceramic Ozone plate. Used in moderation ozone (O³) kills bacteria and viruses including the Flu Virus, and remove odors. This ceramic plate can be installed, and still not emit ozone. The up-and-down fuction control button aptly titled "Purify," controls the ozone output. If the "Purify" stage is set to zero, it does not emit ozone, activating the "Purify" controls is necessary to emit ozone.
Q: What is ozone? Is it good or bad?
A: Ozone is simply three parts oxygen (O³). Ozone is natural in our atomsphere everytime it rains, snows, lightening storms, rivers, streams and waterfalls also emit ozone. In moderation and even in small amounts, ozone can effectively kill airborne bacteria and viruses, including the Flu. Ozone in it's element O³ is an unstable element and thus is not absorbed by your lungs the same as common oxygen O². Ozone is not recommended to be used around infants, elderly, lung diseases or those with common shortness of breath.
Q: How does The Pure Air Store suggest ozone to be used?
A: We suggest you consult a phycisian for medical issues or illness related to the consumer's lungs, shortness of breath. For those wanting to use ozone O³ to kill bacteria and viruses, activate the "Purify" feature only while people and animals are not present in the space, deactivate when the room is occupied. If you do not wish to use ozone whatsoever, there is no need to insert the white/metal mesh ceramic plate into the Mammoth Pure 1000 air purifier and air cleaner.
